Marrutyun to Raise His Salary from 575,000 to 1.2 Million Dram
According to the newspaper "Hraparak," an intriguing issue will be discussed at the Yerevan City Council session on Wednesday. The Mayor of Yerevan has decided to surprise everyone by unexpectedly raising the salaries of city government employees, including his own.
According to the proposed project, Haik Marutyan will earn 1.2 million drams per month instead of the previous 575,000 drams, the same amount as the Prime Minister of the country. Heads of the city's administrative departments will receive 641,000 drams instead of the former 346,000.
“Fate” has also been generous to the heads of administrative districts—community leaders—who will earn 773,000 drams instead of the previous 400,000. Their deputies will receive 668,000 drams instead of 346,000. Incidentally, the city’s staff list has also increased from 1,998 positions to 2,124.5 positions. When we inquired about where the funds would come from in this impoverished country, they said, “from the community budget.”
