Israel Must Decide Whether to Recognize the Armenian Genocide: Z. Mnatsakanyan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, gave an interview to the Israeli KAN NEWS television channel, discussing Israel's failure to recognize the Armenian Genocide and the sale of Israeli weapons.

When asked whether he is surprised by the question of Israel not recognizing the Armenian Genocide, the minister stated, "The question is not about surprise. You know, I represent a country that is still struggling against denied justice.

My people have gone through this, but at the same time have triumphed, because there were intentions to eradicate us from the face of the Earth, and today we are a confident country with powerful, thriving, and self-assured communities around the world."

The Foreign Minister added that the issue of denying justice is broader than just a matter concerning Armenians. "This is a question of humanity. Now, Israel must decide whether to recognize the Armenian Genocide or not. This is not just about Armenia; it is about Israel," Mnatsakanyan stressed.

As he explained, this issue concerns Israel's decision on whether it will support genocide prevention, human consciousness, human rights, and justice.

"As a country, Armenia supports genocide prevention," the minister emphasized.

He also addressed another concerning issue regarding Israeli arms trade. "Israeli weapons are lethal for our people. We have witnessed how these weapons are used against our people," Mnatsakanyan clarified.
