Murder in Yerevan: One of Two Hospitalized Brothers Dies

A murder occurred today in Yerevan. At approximately 04:50, the Shengavit Medical Center notified the Shengavit police department about two individuals with stab wounds who had been admitted to the hospital. One of them, unfortunately, died in the intensive care unit without regaining consciousness.

Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports that the doctors at the hospital informed the police and investigators that they did not know the identities of the injured individuals, and one of the victims was unable to provide any explanation about the incident.

Police and investigators have identified the deceased as 31-year-old Gor Grigoryan, a resident of the Nor Nork administrative district, while the injured individual is his brother, 32-year-old Gurgen Grigoryan. According to media reports citing law enforcement, the incident took place on Shahamiaryan Street in the Shengavit administrative district, and the suspect has been found and taken to the Shengavit police department.

According to G. Shamshyan's information, the suspect is 32-year-old Hovhannes Sargsyan, a resident of the Shengavit administrative district, who also sustained injuries. It is reported that the deceased and the suspect had been childhood friends, both of whom had previous convictions, and the altercation occurred under the influence of alcohol. A criminal case has been initiated.
