Tense Situation in Aragats Village: Residents Block Highway

Currently, residents of Aragats village in the Aparan region of Aragatsotn province have blocked the Yerevan-Vanadzor interstate highway.

One of the residents, Sevak, told Armlur.am that the reason for the blockade is the operation of a hydropower plant (HPP), which had been halted before the elections. He explained that prior to the snap parliamentary elections, the regional governor, Davit Gevorgyan, visited the village and promised to resolve the issue; however, the operation of the HPP was restored a few days ago.
