Car Accident in Yerevan: One of the Drivers Was Drunk
According to Shamshyan.com, the police are conducting investigations into a serious car accident that occurred on February 10 in Yerevan. Between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM, a collision took place on Mantashyan Street involving a Mercedes with license plate 93 AP 993 and a Volkswagen with license plate 34 PM 824.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, preliminary information indicates that fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the accident. The drivers were subjected to sobriety tests at the scene, and it was determined that the Volkswagen driver was not sober and exhibited a high level of intoxication.
Witnesses at the scene told Shamshyan.com's correspondent that the driver of the Volkswagen was the one at fault in the accident. Not only was he intoxicated, but he also attempted to obstruct the work of the traffic police by claiming that he was 'one of the good guys in the city' and that he would resolve his issues with a phone call to dismiss the charges of intoxication. However, the traffic police did not heed his requests and proceeded with their legal actions.
The traffic police are currently verifying the identity of the drivers involved.
