Detained Director is a Protégé of Manvel Grigoryan

Today, January 21, Gayané Hovhannisyan, the director of the "Laptarik" kindergarten operating in the Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan, has been detained.

A criminal case has been initiated against her under Article 179 (embezzlement) of the RA Criminal Code, with the charge stating that the director misappropriated food intended for 120 children at the kindergarten and more.

The food was reportedly transported in portions to a restaurant complex owned by her family in Jrvazh. According to our sources in the investigation, the director also embezzled a significant sum of 13 million dram that was allocated to individuals who were officially registered at the kindergarten but were not actually working there.

According to Hraparak.am, Gayané Hovhannisyan's husband, Taron Vahagni Hovhannisyan, is the head of the fourth department of the RA Audit Chamber, and their three children are protégés of General Manvel Grigoryan. The general's wife, Nazik Amiryan, and Taron Hovhannisyan were classmates. Their son, Karen Hovhannisyan, works as an inspector in the auditing division of the Yerevan municipality.
