Aliyev's Regime Tried to Show Through Me That It Is Still Capable of Something: Lapshin
Russian and Israeli citizen blogger Alexander Lapshin gave an interview the day after his arrival in Armenia on the Public TV program "News." The blogger, who was arrested for visiting Artsakh and imprisoned in Azerbaijan, emphasized that this is his fourth time in Armenia, this time coming as a tourist to familiarize himself with the changes that have occurred in the country during his 1.5-month stay.
During the interview, he spoke about the torture and chain of violence he experienced in a Baku prison, as well as ideas surrounding the resolution of the Artsakh issue from Azerbaijani and blogging perspectives.
“I think I was needed for internal use in Azerbaijan, for the relatively uneducated segment of society. They wanted to show that Ilham Aliyev's regime, which is primarily known for its autocracy towards its own people, is still capable of something,” Lapshin noted.
