Stabbing on Northern Avenue: Suspect Has Fled
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated a criminal case regarding an incident of intentional infliction of serious bodily harm in the Central and Norq Marash administrative districts.
According to the Investigative Committee, preliminary data indicates that on January 2, 2019, at around 05:00, during a dispute near 5 Northern Avenue in Yerevan, a 29-year-old man struck a resident born in 1978 with a sharp cutting-stabbing object. This act intentionally caused a penetrating abdominal injury and a punctured-cut bleeding wound to the chest, along with damage to the small intestine, peritoneum injury, and internal bleeding.
In response to the incident, on January 2, 2019, a criminal case was opened in the Central-Norq Marash administrative district under Article 112, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the individual who allegedly committed the crime has left the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Blood-like traces were discovered during the inspection of the crime scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
