The Number of Tsunami Victims in Indonesia Rises to 1016
The death toll from the tsunami that struck the Sunda Strait in Indonesia has reached 281, according to the Straits Times.
According to the report, the number of affected individuals has increased to 1016, while 57 people are considered missing. The report also mentions the destruction of hundreds of homes and buildings.
The country's authorities have stated that the tsunami may have been caused by an underwater landslide triggered by the activity of the Anak Krakatau volcano, combined with high tide waves due to the full moon.
