Tense Situation: Ararat Residents Demand Mayor's Resignation
Today, on December 17, a tense situation has developed in the Ararat region. A group of residents from the city of Ararat have gathered in front of the Ararat City Hall, demanding the resignation of Mayor Hayk Haykyan.
According to shamshyan.com, the protesters stated that they had collected signatures and even appealed to Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to resolve the issue fairly for the benefit of the city's residents.
“We are already tired of having such a mayor and want someone who truly has merits,” they expressed.
At present, a large number of police officers in the region have blocked the entrance to the city hall, and a brief scuffle occurred between the citizens and police officers.
