Mudflow in Vayots Dzor: Traffic Restored

On August 10, at 15:43, a signal was received at the Vayots Dzor regional operational management center about a landslide on the Yeghhegis-Hermon highway, causing the road to be closed. Operational groups from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue administration and fire-rescue units were dispatched to the scene.

It was found that due to heavy rainfall, a mudflow occurred at the 12th kilometer of the Shatin-Hermon highway, flooding the road with approximately 50 cubic meters of water, making the roadway one-sided and difficult to navigate.

The rescuers secured the area. Using special equipment, the road was cleared and is now open for two-way traffic.
