Donald Trump Unsure If He Will Allow Ukraine to Produce Patriot Missiles
U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a phone interview with Financial Times that he is "unsure" whether he will allow Ukraine to produce missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft systems. "We are considering that question," the publication quotes him as saying.
The promise to grant a license for missile production for the Patriot system was made during a meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the NATO summit in early July in Turkey.
"This is an exclusive weapon, and we need to be a little more careful about the licenses we grant to them. In fact, we are not granting licenses for equipment," Trump said in the interview with FT.
