Araghchian on Russian Proposal
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchian has confirmed that discussions have been held regarding Russia's proposal to store Iranian enriched uranium in Russia. Araghchian stated that conversations took place with Russian officials, expressing gratitude for their willingness to assist.
According to the minister, Tehran intends to defer negotiations with the United States on enriched uranium to later phases; however, they may consider Russia's proposal at an appropriate time. “When we reach that stage, we will obviously hold additional consultations with Russia to see if the Russian proposal can be helpful or not,” he clarified, adding that “there is no talk of this at the moment.”
