Russia Must Take Action: Zelensky's Statement

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that Russia must end the war and take steps towards a genuine and lasting ceasefire.

According to the Ukrainian president, Russia has unilaterally violated a relative calm that lasted for several days. This night, more than 200 drone strikes were launched towards Ukraine. The battlefield has seen the use of aerial bombs again, with over 80 units deployed, and more than 30 airstrikes carried out.

Drones were shot down in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions, as well as in Kyiv and its surrounding area. The attacks resulted in damage to energy infrastructure, residential buildings, a kindergarten, and a civilian railway locomotive. There are casualties and injuries due to the strikes, prompting Zelensky to extend condolences to those affected.

"We have said that we will respond in kind to all Russian actions. Russia must end this war, and it is up to them to take steps towards a genuine, lasting ceasefire. As long as this does not happen, sanctions against Moscow are necessary and should remain in place, becoming stricter. It is important that there are no relaxations, and that partners do not withdraw but continue working together for security, justice, and reliable peace," he stated on his Telegram channel.
