Kaja Kallas Threatens Russia
European Union countries have begun discussions on a 21st package of sanctions against Russia, targeting the defense industry and oil tankers.
At the conclusion of a meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced the start of negotiations regarding the 21st sanctions package against Russia. The restrictions are expected to be applied to the Russian defense industry and, presumably, to Russian oil transport tankers.
“We have sent a request to member countries regarding new sanctions. The sanctions should target Russia’s defense industry, as well as the 'shadow fleet'. But we have also decided to continue applying sanctions as part of our ongoing efforts and not to seek agreement on separate large packages, but rather to constantly undertake various measures that can limit Russia's revenues,” Kallas stated.
