Kopirkin Discusses Risks Surrounding the 'Trump Route' in Armenia
The Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin, stated that the participation of the United States in the southern transport project in Armenia would be considered a security threat to Iran. According to the ambassador, Washington’s involvement in the 'Trump Route' project will lead to an increase in tensions in the region.
Kopirkin noted that the construction of infrastructures linking Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan through Armenian territory faces risks, given Iran's distrust of the U.S. The head of the Russian diplomatic mission added that Moscow respects Yerevan's right to diversify its external connections, provided that it does not harm Armenian-Russian cooperation.
At the same time, the ambassador emphasized that Russia did not participate in the summit of the European Political Community held in Yerevan, expressing dissatisfaction with the confrontational approach adopted by the organizers.
