Ioannissian: The Behavior of the Driver Accompanying the Speaker of Parliament is Unacceptable
“The rude behavior of the driver of the vehicle accompanying the Speaker of the National Assembly, which has nothing to do with the protection of the protected object, is unacceptable,” wrote Daniel Ioannissian, founder of the Political and Civic Movement (PCM), on his Facebook page.
“The State Protection Service (SPS) should not require other drivers to violate traffic rules, and moreover, it should not create emergency situations as a punishment. In general, 'punishing' other drivers by 'pushing them aside' (punishing, not protecting the object) is hooliganism.
If someone drove that roughly against my car, perhaps I would have blocked their path—starting to clarify on what grounds they felt entitled to 'punish' law-abiding drivers. Overall, I sometimes get the impression that some drivers from the SPS have an inferiority complex that they express through unnecessarily aggressive driving, unrelated to the safety of the object being protected. This is unacceptable.
Note: SPS officers can perform certain maneuvers and gain priority in traffic for the purpose of protecting the object. But they cannot demand that other drivers violate traffic rules and, moreover, cannot 'punish' other drivers,” wrote Ioannissian.
