Interior Minister on Granting Armenian Citizenship to Displaced from Artsakh
As of now, there are 34,576 individuals displaced from Artsakh who have received Armenian citizenship. This was stated by Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan during a discussion titled "The Socio-Economic Inclusion Process of Displaced Armenians from Artsakh."
“About 1,000 applications, meaning draft decrees, are currently in the presidential administration, which means we will resolve issues for another 1,000 individuals in the coming days and we will be able to expedite this process,” she added.
The Interior Minister also announced that there have been zero rejections, which demonstrates the Armenian Government’s commitment to accelerating the integration process. “We have had 28,000 minors among the displaced, of whom about 12,000 have already obtained Armenian citizenship through the passporting process, considering their parents' acquisition of citizenship,” said the Interior Minister.
