We Discuss External Threats but Forget About Internal Dangers: Karapetyan
I want to thank everyone who watched our podcast yesterday in full and did not make superficial judgments. I acknowledge that for many people, this statement, taken out of context, was unfortunate. This was stated by businessman Samvel Karapetyan's son, Sargis Karapetyan, in a published video.
“We have discussed topics that are taboo in Armenia, but in my opinion, they are the most important. We always discuss external threats but forget about internal dangers. During the podcast, we talked about how, according to sociology, the rates of drug addiction, depression, and gambling have increased during the pandemic. Our people are crumbling from the inside. Let me ask, is it normal for a woman to insult? This small group is doing nothing to solve these problems. On the contrary, these issues benefit them. The more people are buried in problems, the less they think about real issues. Let me ask the people, this small group: Are you now annoyed by my wording, or by the fact that I am speaking out loud about these issues? A healthy society and a healthy Armenia will be our main goal in every sense—without a healthy society, both mentally and physically healthy, a strong Armenia cannot exist,” said Karapetyan.
