Israel Discusses Military Readiness Amid Regional Tensions
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has discussed the military readiness of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with Chief of Staff Major General Eyal Zamir amid potential escalations surrounding Iran, the Israeli Defense Ministry's press service reported on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Israeli state broadcaster Kan reported that Zamir had held meetings with senior U.S. officials in Washington over the weekend in the context of preparations for a possible U.S. attack on Iran. According to the broadcaster, Israel and the United States are "operating in complete coordination," and the Jewish state expects to receive "advance warning from the U.S. in the event of a decision to launch an attack."
"Defense Minister Israel Katz is currently holding a working meeting with IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir. Following a series of meetings held by the Chief of Staff in the U.S., they are discussing, among other issues, the assessment of the regional situation and the operational readiness of the Israel Defense Forces for any possible scenario," the press service stated.
