Baku and Washington Discuss Normalization of Relations Between Azerbaijan and Armenia
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mamedov, met with the professional staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee. This was reported in a statement by the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the current regional situation, the significance of the agreements reached at the peace summit held in Washington on August 8, the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and actions taken related to the peace agreement were discussed.
Additionally, the draft of the U.S.-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Charter, which is currently in its final stages of development, and other bilateral issues of mutual interest were examined.
Thoughts were also exchanged on the initiatives related to Azerbaijan raised in Congress, and the importance of repealing Article 907 of the Freedom Support Act for Azerbaijan was emphasized.
