Trump May Lift Some Sanctions Against Venezuela
U.S. President Donald Trump may lift some sanctions against Venezuela and continue the trade of Venezuelan oil, with Venezuela using the revenue to purchase American goods. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
The Venezuelan oil industry currently requires significant capital investments, so it is premature to say that Donald Trump will actively restore the country's oil industry, especially since it is very difficult to apply pressure on American oil companies.
“Another question is that Trump could lift a number of sanctions against Venezuela and start trading Venezuelan oil, which he is already doing, and Venezuela would use the revenue to buy American products. It is likely that Nicolás Maduro himself would choose this option, as it is beneficial for the Venezuelan economy,” the news outlet reports.
