The Sale Agreement for Serzh Sargsyan's Isakov Land Plot Recognized as Invalid
The agreement for the sale of a land plot belonging to former Armenian Defense Minister Serzh Sargsyan has been declared invalid, resulting in the confiscation of 786 thousand U.S. dollars equivalent in Armenian dram in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
This ruling was made by the Anti-Corruption Court on January 23, 2026, approving yet another lawsuit from the Prosecutor General's Office aimed at protecting state interests. Following the legal enforcement of the ruling, a total of 297 million 980 thousand drams will be confiscated in favor of Armenia.
It is reminded that the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a lawsuit in the Anti-Corruption Court to annul the sales agreement concluded on December 17, 2005, between Serzh Sargsyan and an individual for a 1.4514 hectare land plot located on Admiral Isakov Avenue in the Malatia-Sebastia district of Yerevan.
The court, granting the Prosecutor General's request, invalidated the sales agreement and ordered the confiscation of the land plot value amounting to 297 million 980 thousand drams from the private individual in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
