We Haven't Seen Such a Figure in the Last 5 Years: Galayan
We have recorded a historic figure in the ratio of convicts to detainees for the last five years. This was stated by the Minister of Justice of Armenia, Srbuhie Galayan, during a discussion on the obstacles to maintaining reasonable durations in judicial proceedings.
“As of today, we have 24 more convicts than detainees. We haven't seen such a figure in the last 5 years. The number of detainees has always been greater than the number of convicts. We consider this a very significant and positive indicator. We hope that in the near future, with the speeding up of processes, this number will differ even more in favor of convicts,” added Minister Galayan.
