Land in Ijevan City Park Returned to Community, Prosecutor General's Office
The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court on March 11, 2025, against an individual, demanding the termination of construction rights over a 19 sq. m. plot of land located at 18 Theater Street in the Ijevan community of Tavush Province.
On November 1, 2025, the Anti-Corruption Court ruled in favor of the Prosecutor General's lawsuit. The ruling terminated the construction rights of the individual over the plot at 18 Theater Street.
The court's decision has entered into force as a precedent. Based on the Prosecutor General's request, the Cadastre Committee revoked the individual's construction rights over the land on December 29, 2025, effectively returning the plot to the Ijevan community.
It is worth noting that the Prosecutor General's Office's Public Interests Protection Division had previously filed 16 lawsuits with the Anti-Corruption Court to forcibly terminate construction rights over land plots in the municipal park area of the Ijevan community, demanding their return to the community.
Thus, a total of properties have been returned to the Ijevan community within the municipal park area, including:
- 19 sq. m. plot at 18 Theater Street
- 350.1 sq. m. plot at 18/7 Theater Street
- 19.8 sq. m. plot at 18/5 Theater Street
- 436 sq. m. plot at 1/55 Independence Street
- 0.06 ha plot at 1/29 Valansi Street
- 0.001 ha plot at 1/62 Independence Street
- 436.8 sq. m. plot at 1/54 Independence Street
- 1500 sq. m. plot at 1/41 Independence Street
- 0.03 ha plot at 18/6 Independence Street
- 0.03 ha plot at 1/27 Valansi Street
In addition, as a result of prosecutorial intervention, a 0.03 ha plot adjacent to the fountains in the Ijevan municipal park has also been returned to the control and use of the Ijevan community.
