Putin Discusses AI Development with Security Council
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a traditional operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council on Friday. The key topic of discussion was the development of artificial intelligence from the standpoint of the country's defense and national security.
President Putin emphasized that there are several issues on the agenda, the first being additional measures for the development of artificial intelligence that align with the interests of defense and security. Defense Minister Andrey Belousov reported on this matter.
Putin has repeatedly highlighted that the development of artificial intelligence could lead to a major technological breakthrough and must be carried out in a harmonious manner. According to the Russian leader, this process should not lead to the formation of closed 'elite groups', where others would be restricted to technical operations.
