Czechia's New Defense Minister Rejects Invitation to Ukraine
The new Defense Minister of Czechia, General Jaromir Zuna, has declined an invitation to visit Ukraine. This was announced by the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and leader of the SPD movement, Tomio Okamura, who had proposed Zuna for the position during a press conference.
"The Defense Minister has not accepted the invitation to visit Ukraine," Okamura stated, refusing to answer reporters' questions. Zuna has not commented on this statement.
Later, responding to questions from the Novinky portal, the parliamentary speaker emphasized that any support for Ukraine should lead to peace. He also reaffirmed his movement's position that the SPD rejects the purchase of weapons financed from the Czech budget for Ukraine. Okamura also announced that the Ministry of Defense should present documentation rejecting participation in initiatives to supply munitions to Ukraine.
