At Least 40,000 Indian Migrants Expected to Arrive in Russia by 2026
At least 40,000 Indian labor migrants are expected to arrive in Russia by 2026. This was announced by Boris Titov, the special representative of the President for relations with international organizations on sustainable development issues.
According to Titov, the labor shortage in several sectors of the Russian economy necessitates the recruitment of new sources, with India being considered a promising partner due to its large pool of qualified and capable personnel.
He noted that organized mechanisms for attracting labor migrants are currently under discussion, which would include language training, social adaptation, and guarantees for legal employment. Titov emphasized that the process should be manageable and mutually beneficial for both Russia and India.
The official assessed that the involvement of Indian workers could make a significant contribution to the development of the industry, construction, and services sectors.
