6-7 Bus Accidents Every Day in Yerevan, According to Hetq
Every day, an average of 6-7 accidents involving Yerevan’s municipal buses is recorded. According to data provided by Yerevan Bus LLC, there have been 2,468 incidents involving buses over the past year. This information has been reported by Hetq.
Compared to the previous year, the number of accidents has increased by 46%. The number of buses has also risen in comparison to last year. In 2024, Yerevan Bus LLC had 719 buses in its fleet, while in 2025, this number grew to 852.
Up until November 1, 2025, of the 2,111 recorded incidents, 1,014 were caused by bus drivers, while in 36 cases, one of the parties involved was at fault. Therefore, it turns out that every second accident is attributed to the fault of bus drivers.
According to Yerevan Bus LLC, in 2024, 1,734 accidents were registered, with 772 attributed to the drivers of the buses, and 38 involving shared fault.
From January 1 to November 1, 2025, there were 135 cases of personal injury resulting from accidents, 2 of which were fatal, 19 serious (including one resulting from a self-accident by a Yerevan Bus LLC driver), 44 moderate, and 70 with light injuries.
For transport vehicles damaged in road accidents, if the driver is not at fault, compensations from insurance companies are utilized for restoration. If found at fault, repairs are handled at the workshops of Yerevan Bus LLC.
Over the past year, insurance companies compensated 159,838,695 dram for damages related to the buses.
