Mass Deportations in the US: Iranians Predominate
The United States has deported around 50 Iranian citizens in accordance with an agreement between Washington and Tehran, reports The New York Times, citing anonymous Iranian officials. It is noted that the plane transporting the Iranian citizens departed from an airport in Arizona and will make stops in Egypt and Kuwait during its route.
The publication adds that this flight is the second of its kind; the first plane, which carried around 100 Iranians, left the US in September. According to the newspaper, approximately 2,000 Iranian citizens are awaiting deportation from the United States.
