There Are No Political Prisoners in Armenia, Says Minister Surbuhi Galyan
There are no political prisoners in Armenia; I do not know what criteria you are talking about. This was stated by Justice Minister Surbuhi Galyan during a press briefing.
“We are definitely not talking about those individuals who truly commit criminal acts. I always emphasize that it is very convenient to justify an act that contains characteristics of certain articles of the Criminal Code by arguing that the person is engaged in politics, hence they are a political prisoner,” said Galyan.
According to Galyan, there are no political prisoners in our country. “I state this based on the international criteria you have cited,” she added.
