In Armenia, a Prosperous Life is No Longer a Political Promise: Vahe Hovhannisyan
In Armenia, a prosperous life is no longer a vision for the future or a political promise, but a tangible reality that offers everyone immense freedom and wonderful opportunities to improve and develop right here in our country. Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan stated this today in the National Assembly during his speech on the Republic of Armenia's 2026 state budget.
The minister also reported that recent analyses of the implementation of the 2025 budget suggest that instead of the planned 5.5% budget deficit at the end of 2025, there will be a deficit level not exceeding 5%. "As a result, the state debt will not exceed the threshold of 50% of GDP," said the minister.
According to him, we are entering 2026 with considerable confidence, a stable economy, a manageable and stable level of debt, and great confidence in the future, aiming to build a competitive and inclusive Armenia. He is confident that the reforms being implemented will continue to yield results, that the economic potential will be fully realized, and that the state management system will continue to operate purposefully and fairly.
