Iran Inflicts $40 Billion Damage on Israel During 12-Day War: Details
The 12-day war between Israel and Iran has been one of the most costly and unsuccessful periods in Israel's history, according to the Iranian Mehr agency.
According to the news outlet, statistics and official statements indicate that Israel's economic losses amounted to between $12 billion and $20 billion; however, preliminary estimates suggest that they could reach $40 billion. Specifically, Mehr notes that direct military expenditures accounted for $12.2 billion, while economic shocks and business closures are estimated at $21.4 billion. The damage from Iranian attacks is assessed at $4.5 billion, and evacuation and recovery costs are valued at $2 billion.
“Even Israel's official statistics indicate significant economic, military, and social pressures on the country. The long-term consequences, including budget deficits, reduced economic growth rates, tourism losses, emigration of skilled workers, and declining investor confidence, continue to persist. Ultimately, the 12-day war demonstrated that Israel's 20-year strategy of resisting Iran has failed, forcing Tel Aviv to seek a ceasefire to prevent further losses and economic collapse,” the Iranian media reports.
