Saakashvili Appeals to Zelensky
The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has made a request via his Facebook post to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to include him in the list of political prisoners.
“I ask you, as the former head of the Odesa Regional State Administration and as the Chairman of the National Reform Council's Executive Committee, to include me in the list of political prisoners with the corresponding legal consequences,” he wrote.
Saakashvili obtained Ukrainian citizenship and served as the head of the Odesa administration, but he was later stripped of his passport. In 2019, following Zelensky's assumption of power, the decision was annulled.
