Judge's Powers Terminated: Details
The judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, Armine Safaryan, has submitted her resignation. This information is sourced from the High Judicial Council.
"Based on the resignation application received on November 7, 2025, from Armine Gevorgi Safaryan, judge of the Civil Court of First Instance of Yerevan, and guided by the provisions of Article 89, Part 1, Point 9, Article 160, Part 1, Point 1, and Part 2, and Article 94, Part 1 of the Constitutional Law 'Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia', the High Judicial Council decides to terminate the powers of judge Armine Gevorgi Safaryan of the Civil Court of First Instance of Yerevan as of November 10, 2025,' states the decision of the Chairman of the HJC.
According to the statement by HJC Chairman Arthur Athebekian, under Part 2 of Article 160 of the 'Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia', the powers of a judge are terminated from the day the judge either insists on her resignation at a meeting of the High Judicial Council convened for that issue or fails to attend that meeting.
According to Part 5 of Article 160 of the Judicial Code, in cases of termination of a judge’s powers specified in Points 1 and 6 of Part 1 of this article, the Chairman of the High Judicial Council is required to immediately publish a statement on the official website of the judicial authority.
In light of the above, it is announced that by the decision No. HJC-81-О-145 of the High Judicial Council dated November 10, 2025, based on the resignation application submitted by judge Armine Gevorgi Safaryan, her powers have been terminated as of November 10, 2025," reads the announcement.
It should be noted that there was a disciplinary proceeding against Armine Safaryan in the HJC, for which a decision had not yet been made. Prior to this proceeding, there was another case against Safaryan, in which she was held accountable for disciplinary violations.
