Washington's New Provocative Statement Against Russia
Former CIA officer Larry Johnson has stated that NATO today creates only an "illusion of strength," but in reality is no longer able to confront Russia—neither by troop numbers nor by weapon quality. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Johnson compared the NATO countries to a "group of retired athletes" who talk about their past successes but are no longer capable of actually competing. "They are overweight, in poor physical condition, and suffer from various ailments. This is the image of Europe and NATO—a worn-out force that simply does not recognize its own inability," he noted.
According to the expert, the current state of the alliance demonstrates a serious imbalance of power and effectiveness.
