They Have No Right to Be Called Holy. Vahe Ghhalumyan
“Wherever there is an issue related to legality, we will strive to restore legality.” This statement was made by Vahe Ghhalumyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ‘Civil Contract’ faction, during a conversation with journalists in the Hovhannes Church, discussing the recent events surrounding the church.
He pointed out that there are many individuals in the Armenian Apostolic Church who have violated celibacy and should not be in the church; they have no right to be called holy.
Journalists also posed politically charged questions, mentioning the recent events in Gyumri and asking whether the example of Gyumri indicates a lack of trust in the ruling party. Ghhalumyan noted that the Civil Contract party is the strongest political force in Gyumri and that they are not reconciled with the opposition's united candidate but are instead opposed to illegality.
“Should we allow Vardanyan Ghukasyan to take bribes and legalize a territory, and then, a few years later, give it a political assessment?” asked MP Vahe Ghhalumyan.
