Georgia Suspends Participation in EuroNest Activities

Tbilisi has decided to refrain from participating in the upcoming EuroNest sessions, criticizing the European Parliament's approaches. Georgia's Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili stated that the European Parliament has recently turned this platform into a tool of political pressure, forcing its agenda onto neighboring countries.

Papuashvili emphasized that Tbilisi does not see an opportunity for effective cooperation under the current circumstances, as some European powers are exhibiting hostile and unilateral political approaches. He added that Georgia can return to EuroNest activities only when the European Parliament ensures an environment for equal and constructive dialogue.

It is worth noting that earlier, EuroNest adopted a resolution mentioning the retreat of democracy in Georgia, the falsification of parliamentary elections, and the adoption of anti-democratic laws. Tbilisi considers these assessments unfounded and politically opportunistic.
