Ministry of Defense Denies Voskanyan's Statement
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Aram Torosyan, has stated that reports suggesting a massive dismissal of officers from the army in 2026 and that military personnel serving for 20 years will receive military pensions upon reaching retirement age are not accurate.
Previously, journalist Voskanyan had written on his Facebook page: "I have unofficially learned from military sources that a large number of officers will be discharged from the army in 2026. There is also a project that would allow military personnel who have served for 20 years to receive military pensions not after completing their service, as is currently the case, but at their retirement age of 63. This news has caused concern among army officers."
