Trump Excludes the Possibility of Running for Vice President in 2028
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he does not plan to run for Vice President in the 2028 elections. “I would exclude that, as it is too tempting. I don’t think people would like that,” Trump said during a conversation with reporters.
Earlier, political analysts speculated that Trump might try to circumvent the constitutional prohibition against serving more than two presidential terms by running for the vice presidency. In such a scenario, theoretically, he could reclaim the presidency after the resignation of the sitting president.
However, Trump has made it clear that such a scenario is not on his agenda and that the idea is “too tempting to be acceptable to the public.”
