US Tightens Sanctions Against Russia, Says Treasury Secretary
The US is tightening sanctions against Russia, announced US Treasury Secretary Scott Bassett. “The first thing we will announce is a significant tightening of sanctions against Russia,” he stated.
With these sanctions, the US aims to bring Russia to the negotiating table and end the Russo-Ukrainian war. It is noted that yesterday, Trump did not confirm that he would meet with Putin in the near future.
Previously, a source from the White House informed the media that the meeting was canceled because Russia is unwilling to make concessions.
