EU Has No Money to Fund War in Ukraine, Says Orbán
The EU has no money to fund the war in Ukraine, declared Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“Considering that we Europeans are experiencing a serious economic crisis, we need every penny. We have already spent 175-180 billion euros, and every year we will have to spend 40, 50, 60 billion euros over and over again. We simply do not have the necessary resources. This strategy has neither a rational nor a financial basis.
We are unable to finance this war. At the same time, we want to win against such an opponent while continuing to exist with the same amount of money and economic power. This is completely an illusion. It will collapse, and the consequences will be severe,” stated the Hungarian Prime Minister.
It is worth noting that Europe is currently discussing the issue of providing Ukraine with a compensation loan of 140 billion euros, which they plan to secure using frozen Russian assets as collateral.
