Ktrich Nersisyan Must Resign as Soon as Possible, Otherwise We Will Remove Him: Pashinyan
We are saddened that the high-ranking clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church are in prison. This is a dictatorship of law and justice. This is a strong, democratic state. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the 7th Congress of the Civil Contract Party.
“The initiative 'Vaharany Vehi' aims to free the Mother See from Ktrich Nersisyan first and foremost with a spiritual apolitical agenda, and there is little opportunity to discuss this issue in a political party environment. However, this topic also has conceptual nuances related to state security, which may or may not be related to the spiritual agenda.
With bitterness, it should be noted that several of our high-ranking clergy, educated in an atheist state, including Ktrich Nersisyan himself, simply do not believe in God and regard him as a merchandise brand that can be well-sold at Armenian Diaspora fairs.
The political and state agenda is as follows: The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church must return to its state-oriented and state-centered domain, which is impossible without freeing Vaharany from Nersisyan, and this agenda must be implemented without fail. There is simply no alternative; Nersisyan must resign voluntarily, without popular influence, but if not, then he will be removed through popular influence,” said Pashinyan.
