Poland's Prime Minister Confirms Drones Were Russian
Poland's armed forces announced early Wednesday morning that they had shot down unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that violated their airspace during a Russian offensive over neighboring Ukraine, marking the first significant provocation for European and NATO forces.
“As a result of the Russian Federation's attack on Ukrainian territory today, there was an unprecedented violation of Poland's airspace by unmanned aerial vehicles. This act of aggression posed a real threat to the safety of our citizens,” stated the Polish defense command's report.
Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed that the drones that entered Polish airspace on the evening of September 9 were Russian. He noted that a large number of drones penetrated the territory, which were subsequently shot down.
It is worth mentioning that a drone in Poland had previously damaged a residential building. Earlier, Prime Minister Donald Tusk had announced the breach of Poland's airspace during the night.
