Iran Accuses Europeans of Following US Policy
European countries have lost their independence and are merely following the policies of US President Donald Trump's administration regarding Iran's nuclear program. This was stated by the spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian.
“Europeans are doing what Trump dictates to them,” he said. “The role of Europeans will diminish. If you look back at the history of the nuclear agreement, you will see that leaders of European foreign policy like Javier Solana, Cathy Ashton, Federica Mogherini, and Josep Borrell have tried to be a connecting link between Iran and the US. They have attempted to demonstrate that they are reliable negotiating partners. But now Europeans have chosen to become the authorized representatives of the US and Israel. It was utterly irresponsible of them to hand over this role to the US,” Baghaei noted.
