The US to Soon Present Its Security Guarantees Program for Ukraine
The United States will soon present its program for security guarantees for Ukraine, reports the British Financial Times, citing sources.
"White House officials indicate that a rough outline of the security guarantees could be unveiled shortly," the report states. Meanwhile, the publication notes that there is still much to agree on, including the need to secure consent from Russia for the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine.
"A peace agreement has not yet been reached, and decisions regarding the implementation of security guarantees are still far off," the newspaper reports. However, EU officials are optimistic that the main obstacle—the reluctance of US President Donald Trump to provide assistance—has been overcome, the report adds.
