Germany Does Not Intend to Recognize Palestine's Statehood, Merz
Germany does not intend to recognize Palestine's statehood, despite the position of some of its partners. This was announced by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, as reported by TASS.
“The events of recent days have not changed our position on this issue. We will not join the initiative for Palestine's recognition. We believe that the conditions for recognition of statehood have not been met in any way,” stated Merz, adding that the German authorities also do not intend to recognize Palestine at the UN General Assembly session.
