Why Did Putin Get Into Trump's Car?
During the summit in Anchorage, the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, took the same car from the airport, a move that was not planned and was improvised, a source close to the negotiations told RIA Novosti.
According to the source, the scenario at the airport suggested that both leaders were to travel in their own vehicles—Putin in an Aurus limousine and Trump in a Cadillac. However, the ceremony did not proceed as planned. First, the leaders ascended the podium together for a joint photograph instead of approaching from opposite sides as initially intended. Then, unexpectedly for the meeting participants, the American leader invited the Russian president to his car, to which Putin readily agreed.
