Russia Responds to 'Trump's Route' Project
Details of the 'Trump's Route' project have yet to be published, but when considering the unblocking of communications, Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the presence of Russian border guards in Armenia must be taken into account, said Alexey Fadeev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“When unblocking the communications through the Syunik region, we need to consider the presence of Russian border guards. At the same time, the ministry has refrained from expressing its opinion until the details of the project are examined, which, by the way, have not yet been published,” Fadeev stated.
He also noted that Russia considers the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan between 2020 and 2022 to be relevant. No side has declared its intention to withdraw from these agreements.
