Ukraine Responds to Russia's Night Strikes: Sochi and Gelendzhik Airports Closed
Ukrainian drones have attacked the Krasnodar Krai region. The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine used drones to strike border areas of the country, including cities within Krasnodar Krai. Anti-aircraft defense systems have destroyed 34 Ukrainian drones, 8 of which were downed in the Krasnodar Krai area.
As a precaution, the airports in Sochi and Gelendzhik have been temporarily closed, and tourists have been urged to leave Sochi's beaches. According to Mayor Andrey Proshunin, there are no injuries or casualties reported.
For security reasons, the border checkpoint over the Psou River between Russia and Abkhazia has also been closed. Restrictions have been imposed on pedestrian and transport checkpoints.
